FEATURES OF COURSERA

60%–70% of Coursera students are outside of the United States.
Coursera courses are intended to “teach the world” and so course materials must be available at no or very low cost.
Students take quizzes that are automatically graded. Beyond that, everything is peer-evaluated—there is no instructor grading.
The courses rely heavily on dynamic and engaging videos.
After the first offering of the course, the courses run without instructor supervision.
